Bruce Gillis Jr.
Managing Consultant & Team Lead, Forensics
Bruce Gillis leads forensic engagements from planning through delivery, bringing structure and clarity to matters where precision matters and trust is nonnegotiable. As a Managing Consultant and Team Lead, he focuses on defensible data preservation and collection, evidence handling and chain of custody, and building workflows that hold up under scrutiny. Just as important, he translates risk, scope, and findings in a way clients can act on.
With extensive experience across government and commercial matters, Bruce has led digital forensics and eDiscovery collections involving endpoints, removable media, mobile devices, email, and cloud-based sources. He is known for forensically sound acquisition, disciplined documentation, and defensible reporting, combined with steady client leadership from planning through execution. His hands-on technical work spans leading forensic platforms including EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, and Magnet AXIOM, with focused expertise in macOS and Microsoft 365 and Purview environments.
Before joining iDS, Bruce supported sensitive U.S. government and Department of Defense investigations, including Inspector General related forensic work, as well as high-stakes collections in complex litigation and matters involving expert witness testimony. Across every engagement, he has earned a reputation for methodical work, rigorous documentation, and clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bruce studied at Hagerstown Community College and authored the 2018 white paper Introduction to Solid State Architecture. Outside of client work, he focuses on continuous professional development, building efficient workflows, and mentoring teams.
His approach aligns closely with how iDS shows up for its clients. Do the work with integrity. Communicate with humility. Protect the trust placed in us, every step of the way.
