She has a strong background in data languages like Python, SQL, and R, enabling her to create complex data models and graphical representations of data.
As a member of the Structured Data Analytics team, Amanda supports her colleagues to ensure they remain current with the latest trends and technologies. Her objective is to equip businesses and organizations with meaningful insights to drive growth by unlocking their data’s potential. She is a self-taught coding and data science specialist, which gives her a competitive edge and a certain level of tenacity in finding solutions no matter what the challenge may be. This is why she is often sought after to work on complex projects.
After spending six years in federal consulting, she was keen to take on a new and challenging position. She, therefore, embraced the chance to work for iDS and utilize her expertise to discover valuable insights and meaningful solutions. Amanda believes that when data scientists understand the stories underlying the data, they can make data more meaningful. By connecting the data to the stories, the data is more likely to be used to make informed decisions that will have a positive impact, which is why she is inspired by the words of Dan and Chris Heath, fellow data scientists who said, “Data is just summaries of thousands of stories – tell some of those stories to make the data meaningful.” Amanda feels that data should be used to create a positive impact, which is why she is passionate about her work, and why we are delighted to have her on board. We are eager to see her impact in the coming years.
