Jonah Kang
Junior Consultant, Forensics
Jonah Kang did not stumble into cybersecurity. He chased it. Competing in Capture the Flag competitions. like the National Cyber League while studying at the University of Southern California, he was drawn to the problem-solving, the precision, and the stakes. Digital forensics was the natural next step, and iDS was where he wanted to do it.
As a Junior Forensic Consultant, Jonah conducts forensic imaging, ESI preservation, data management, and the analysis of digital evidence. He has built particular depth in trade secret misappropriation cases, leading Employee Risk Assessments and working with tools including Magnet Axiom, FTK Imager, and Cellebrite UFED.
What keeps him sharp is the work itself. Jonah is genuinely interested in how forensic tools function, how they can be tested and improved, and how better tooling leads to better results for clients. That curiosity shows up in how he works.
“What I appreciate most about iDS is that we are truly a team focused on our client’s goals and success. Everyone works hard to incorporate our workflow with our client’s workflow so that we can produce the best results together.”
A Los Angeles native, Jonah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence and Cyber Operations from the University of Southern California. He brings the same competitive instinct that drove him through CTF competitions to every investigation he takes on at iDS.
