Kenneth E. Gustafson, CFA, is a senior finance, risk management, and economics executive with more than 25 years of experience helping clients solve complex business, financial, and litigation challenges through rigorous economic analysis, valuation, and data-driven insight.
As Managing Director, Economics, Mr. Gustafson works with law firms, corporations, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and government entities on high-stakes disputes, investigations, and regulatory matters. As a consultative partner, he draws on iDS’s coordinated bench across economics, data analytics, digital forensics, and valuation to help clients understand risk, quantify impact, and reduce uncertainty.
He specializes in economic damages, lost profits, valuation disputes, commercial litigation, structured finance, and energy and commodity markets. His work routinely involves building financial and economic models, assessing causation and damages, preparing expert and rebuttal reports, and translating complex market concepts into clear, defensible conclusions that hold up under scrutiny before attorneys, arbitrators, and courts.
Before joining iDS, Mr. Gustafson was a Partner at Vine Advisors and founded KEG Capital, and earlier led commodity structuring for the Americas at Citigroup, with senior roles at Shell Trading, Enron, and Deutsche Bank/Bankers Trust across global energy and financial markets.
