Azzit (Az) Hussain serves as a Director in the Structured Data Analytics practice at iDS.

He brings a strategic mindset to solve complex matters with over 20 years of data analysis expertise to support his clients. Az specializes in investigative data analytics and data expert services to support regulatory and compliance matters. He has led data analytics teams for Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), sanctions screening and crisis management engagements including incident response, cyber breach, financial crisis, class action litigation and operational review. Az uses innovative advanced analytical techniques leveraging the latest technologies to deliver engagements and bring enhanced business value to clients.

Az has led workstreams for large-scale look back engagements for major banking institutions and regulatory related projects.  He spearheaded an AML look back engagement for a major banking institution as an engagement leader and the data analytics lead. Az has prior experience leading data privacy strategy and data governance implementation engagements related to the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In addition, Az led the analytics for a large-scale international telecom monitorship supporting dozens of attorneys to develop cross-functional analysis and deep insights to support trade regulations and export controls compliance.

Az is based in Chicago and has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. Az has traveled to over 30 countries and has international work experience in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
